Now only weeks into 2023, Ross Griffiths is proud finalist for the Emerging Designer Award at This Is Icon – London Fashion Week Awards & Celebrity Gala in aid of prost8 UK, taking place at the iconic venue De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms, London, February 17th, an absolutely incredible achievement for Ross and his team that have been strong since there first campaign at Astley hall, labelling Chorley fashion designer Lancashire’s very own Alexander McQueen, collectively producing work that was called VOGUE worthy by journalists as far as Liverpool.

The whole team are now bringing the glitz and glamour of London fashion week, right into Chorley town centre holding an open casting for models to potentially work with his team in London this September.

We asked Ross – What is the drive behind achieving your dream and what does 2023 hold for Kingfisher Couture

“to be honest I have always had a drive, even from a young age whether its was gymnastics, karate or even horse riding. I always wanted to be the best I could be, and I think that comes from my Mum, who has always provided the very best she could at that time. Now being an adult, I suppose the drive has changed, its now all about proving myself right, that yes I am capable of what some may see as impossible, and there again is another drive, the set backs, the friends that laughed when I said I will be famous one day, the teachers that told me ide amount to nothing. All of these factors have been a massive drive, if only i could tell my younger self this!!!

“2023 is looking extremely busy for us all, from dressing celebrities, attending events, designing a 15 piece collection for London Fashion Week in September and also launching a luxury apparel line for men women and children. I’m sure this year will fly by, I know my whole team and I are extremely grateful for all the opportunities that 2023 holds and we’re sure you’re going to see a lot more of us in the future”

Ross is bringing it home, right to the centre of Chorley. Inspiring others to follow there dreams unquestionably. From the age of 15yrs old when Ross was introduced to textiles at Southlands High School, the road for Ross has not been easy to say the least, battling with school bullies for his sexuality to being diagnosed HIV positive at the age of 21yrs old, depression and social media trolls have been a constant battle but this has not stopped him chasing his dreams.
